Model PSD-4

Electronic pressure switch with display

Applications

  • Machine tools
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Pumps and compressors
  • Special-purpose machine building

Special features

  • Easily readable, robust digital display
  • Intuitive and fast setup
  • Easy and flexible mounting configurations
  • Flexibly configurable and scalable output signals

Description

Leading in design and functionality
The model PSD-4 pressure switch represents the extensive further development of the PSD-30 pressure switch, itself already awarded with the “iF product design award” for its outstanding functionality. A high accuracy of 0.5 %, freely configurable output signals (PNP/NPN, 4 ... 20 mA/0 ... 10 V), the 5:1 scalability of the analogue output, in addition to outstanding self-diagnostics, make the PSD-4 an excellent automation solution.

Customised installation
The installation of the PSD-4 can be flexibly adapted to the individual mounting situation. Due to the almost unlimited rotation of the digital display and case by more than 300°, the digital display can be adjusted independently of the electrical connection. The digital display can thus always be aligned to face the operator, and the M12 x 1 connection positioned to suit the desired cable routing.

High quality
During development of the WIKA switch family a high value was placed on a robust design and the selection of appropriate materials suited to machine-building applications. For this reason the case and the threaded connection of the electrical connector are made from stainless steel. Overwinding or tearing off the connector is therefore virtually impossible.

IO-Link 1.1
With the optional output signal in accordance with the IO-Link communication standard, the PSD-4 allows a fast integration into modern automation systems. IO-Link offers simpler and faster installation, parameterisation and higher

Model LSD-30

  • Hydraulic aggregates
  • Tank monitoring
  • Machine building

Special features of the level switch

  • Easily-readable, robust display
  • Intuitive and fast setup
  • Easy and flexible mounting configurations

Description of the level switch

Award-winning in design and functionality
The successful design and the excellent functionality of the WIKA switch family were already confirmed by winning the "iF product design award 2009" for the PSD-30 pressure switch.

The robust LED display of the LSD-30 level switch has been designed using 9 mm high characters (the largest possible) and with a slight incline in order to make reading the level as easy as possible from a long way off. A 14-segment display has been used, since it represents text very well.

The 3-key operation makes simple, intuitive menu navigation possible, with no need for additional assistance. The menu navigation of the LSD-30 level switch is designed in accordance with the latest VDMA standard. The VDMA standard for fluid sensors (24574-4, part 4 - level switches) has the aim of considerably simplifying the use of level switches by standardising menu navigation and display.
The control keys have been designed as large as possible and are arranged ergonomically to ensure fast and easy adjustments. Operation without any additional assistance is made easier through the tactile feedback.

Model FSD-3

Electronic flow switch

With display, for liquid media

Applications of the flow switch

  • Control of cooling lubricant systems
  • Monitoring of cooling circuits
  • Control of filter units
  • Dry run protection in pumps

Special features of the flow switch

  • Reliable flow monitoring of liquid media
  • Switching and analogue outputs for flow, temperature and diagnostics
  • Easily parameterisable via the local display
  • Free from wear, without any moving parts in the medium

Description of the flow switch

Award-winning in design and functionality
The successful design and the excellent functionality of the WIKA switch family were already confirmed by winning the “iF product design award” for the pressure switch model PSD-30.

The robust LED display has been designed using 9 mm high characters (the largest possible) and with a slight incline in order to make reading the flow as easy as possible from greater distances.
The 3-key operation makes simple, intuitive menu navigation possible, with no need for additional assistance. The menu navigation conforms to the VDMA standard.

Free from wear
The FSD-3 flow switch operates on the basis of the calorimetric measuring principle. This guarantees a wear-free flow measurement without any moving parts in the medium.

Flow monitoring of liquid media
The FSD-3 flow switch enables the reliable and process-safe monitoring of the flow of liquid media. When the flow is above or below the set value, the switching output activates the downstream regulator or control. Damage and production losses through degradation of pumps, tools and spindles can thus be avoided.

Temperature monitoring
The medium temperature can be monitored by means of a temperature output, without the need for equipping another measuring location.

Diagnostic function
The optional diagnostic function of the flow switch reliably outputs a warning when a sensor defect is detected. The switching output can be used to trigger a downstream safety function.
